REMEMBER …. SAFETY FIRST! PLEASE FOLLOW THESE SIMPLE RULES:
~ Keep burning candles out of the reach of children and pets.
~ Make sure to maintain sufficient distance from flammable materials.
~ Do not place candles on or near any furniture, countertops, or electrical devices that are not heat-resistant or have a heat-resistant protective coaster or holder.
~ A burning candle should never be moved. Liquid wax can cause injuries or damage to surfaces.
~ For safety reasons, extinguish the scented wax jar at a wax residue of approx. 1/4" and no longer light, the glass/container can become hot.
Following this guide will ensure you get the best performance and burn time out of your This Essential Life candles.
~ Place candles on heat-resistant surfaces and use a candle holder or candle coaster specifically designed for heat resistance.
~ Important: During the first burn of any container candle, it is crucial that the burn last long enough to melt the wax all the way to the edges; this prevents tunneling.
If your candle has multiple wicks, ensure they are all lit every time it is used to provide an even burn.
~ Ensure that the wick is kept at the recommended length of 1/4 inch prior to each re-lighting to prevent soot from gathering on the inside of your candle vessel. If the inside of your candle vessel becomes blackened during a burn; extinguish the flame, allow the wax to set, wipe with a dry paper towel and check the length of the wick.
~ If you can't smell your scented candle, walk out of the room for a minute and then re-enter the room. If you still can not smell your candle you might have a draft in that room which affects how the scent flows or a fan or window could be redistributing the smell.
~ Discontinue use if your candle becomes cracked, chipped, or damaged. Make sure any wick or match debris is removed prior to re-lighting.
~ For all candles, please take care to position the wick so that it points towards the center. If the wick is not centered after extinguishing, please return to the starting position before the wax cools so that the scented wax jar can burn evenly. (Sufficient distance to the edge of the glass is so important and essential!)
~ If you trimmed the wick too short and it is in danger of ‘drowning’, please extinguish the candle and use a tissue to remove some of the wax surrounding the wick. If a ‘wick blossom’ develops on the wick, extinguish the candle, allow it to cool, remove the ‘blossom’, and then relight the candle.
~ When not in use, keep the candle covered to avoid a build-up of dust.. We recommend using a candle-snuffer for proper extinguishing, however, if this is not available blow gently and steadily on the flame to extinguish. Gently and keeping face or body away from burning candles. Watch your hair closely.
~ Just a reminder … Container candle burn times will vary; color, fragrance, environmental conditions and burning habits, will all affect actual burn time.
~ Thank you for your purchase!
